The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Guyana has officially granted an exemption to U92 Energy Corp., a Canadian firm, regarding the requirement for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). This decision pertains to the company's uranium exploration activities located at the Kurupung project site within Region Seven, known as Cuyuni-Mazaruni. By bypassing this regulatory step, the agency has authorized the business to proceed with its intended 5,000-meter drilling operation. This move follows public requests for broader consultations concerning the environmental implications of the project. With this regulatory obstacle removed, the company is now positioned to advance its extraction research plans in the region.
