ExxonMobil has not yet filed a formal request to extend its exploration license for the Stabroek Block in Guyana. According to John Ardill, the company's Vice President and Head of Global Exploration, the current permit is scheduled to remain valid until October 2027. This information was disclosed during an interview with a senior correspondent. At this stage, the energy corporation has not initiated the administrative process to prolong its exploration rights beyond the established expiration date. The Stabroek Block remains a central asset for the firm's operations in the region, and stakeholders are monitoring whether the company will seek to extend its tenure as the 2027 deadline approaches.
