The Guyana Public Service Union (GPSU) has formally expressed its dissatisfaction with the Ministry of Public Service regarding the postponement of discussions concerning salary adjustments and improved working conditions. According to the union, the administration's failure to engage in timely negotiations is negatively impacting the well-being of government employees. The GPSU highlighted that the current economic situation, characterized by rising living costs, is placing significant financial strain on the workforce. Furthermore, the union cautioned that this lack of progress in addressing compensation packages could trigger a mass departure of experienced professionals seeking better opportunities elsewhere. The organization maintains that the government's inaction is detrimental to the stability of the public sector and urges an immediate resumption of formal talks to resolve these outstanding labor issues.
