The APNU and WIN parties have announced they will not attend scheduled meetings between parliamentary committees and President Irfaan Ali. Terrence Campbell of the APNU stated that his party refuses to participate in sessions that lack structure or clear objectives, dismissing the event as a potential photo opportunity rather than a constructive dialogue. Meanwhile, the WIN party expressed further concerns, accusing the President of undermining the constitutional role of the Opposition Leader by bypassing his office to contact committees directly. Both parties emphasized that they remain open to cooperation, provided that engagements are conducted with transparency and respect for democratic institutions. The President had intended to use these meetings to update members on government initiatives and the ongoing border controversy involving the International Court of Justice.
