The opposition coalition, A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), has expressed significant concerns regarding the government's economic management. Following the publication of the Ministry of Finance's mid-year report, the opposition argued that the administration must provide transparent details about its growth forecasts for 2026. APNU highlighted that the downward revisions observed in the official data necessitate a thorough examination of current fiscal policies. According to the coalition, the country's heavy reliance on the oil industry is creating instability for other vital sectors of the national economy. They urged the government to address these vulnerabilities to ensure a more balanced and sustainable development path, rather than depending solely on petroleum revenues to drive the nation's financial performance.
