The relatives of Gavin Kenard Douglas are calling for accountability after a post-mortem report detailed extensive internal and external injuries sustained while he was held at the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station. According to the family, Douglas was subjected to physical abuse and the use of a taser during his time in police detention. The autopsy findings, which include significant head trauma and intestinal ruptures, have prompted the family to label the incident as a homicide. In response to the allegations of brutality, the Office of Professional Responsibility has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Consequently, four police officers have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing inquiry into the fatal encounter.
