Four female athletes from Guyana participated in the 2026 South American Powerlifting Championships held in Santiago, Chile. Despite the cold weather, three of them achieved podium finishes. Nadina Taharally secured the gold medal in the 76kg Masters 11 division. Meanwhile, her teammates Joseph and Abrigo earned silver and bronze medals, respectively. The performance was particularly notable as the group established two new national records during the event organized by the South American Powerlifting Federation (Fesupo). This achievement highlights the competitive level of the Guyanese delegation on the continental stage.
