Senior Superintendent Prem Narine, the leader of the Special Branch within the Guyana Police Force, testified on Wednesday that he destroyed sensitive operational files. During extradition committal hearings presided over by Chief Magistrate Judy Latchman, Narine acknowledged shredding and incinerating records linked to the apprehension of businessmen Nazar Mohamed and Azruddin Mohamed. The latter individual also serves as the Opposition Leader in the country. This admission occurred amidst ongoing legal proceedings concerning a request from the United States.
