The National Procurement and Tender Administration Board of Guyana has received two distinct proposals for the construction of a natural gas liquids storage and offloading facility, along with associated pipeline infrastructure. Lindsayca Guyana Inc., a company with Venezuelan ownership, submitted a bid valued at 493 million US dollars. In contrast, a Chinese firm presented a significantly lower offer of 28 million US dollars for the same project. This infrastructure is intended to support the ongoing Wales Gas-to-Energy initiative. Reports indicate that Lindsayca is currently facing challenges in adhering to the established timeline for the first phase of this energy development. The tender process remains under official review as authorities evaluate these substantial differences in the proposed financial terms for the facility.
