A group of 23 local entrepreneurs operating within the forestry industry have successfully concluded the Guyana Wood-Based SME Accelerator Programme. This initiative, launched in 2025, sought to enhance the operational capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector. The project was made possible through financial backing from the European Union and was executed by the Food and Agriculture Organization. Participants received comprehensive support, which included customized training modules and personalized advisory services designed to improve their business management skills and market competitiveness. This effort underscores a commitment to strengthening the local timber-based economy through professional development and technical assistance.
