A group of five children diagnosed with heart conditions are scheduled to depart for India this weekend to receive advanced medical treatment. Each child will be accompanied by their parents during the journey. This initiative is the result of a formal partnership between the Guyanese government and Apollo Hospitals, based in India. The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation confirmed that this collaboration aims to provide the necessary specialized surgical interventions that are currently unavailable locally. This effort highlights the ongoing commitment of the national health authorities to secure critical care for pediatric patients requiring complex cardiac procedures abroad.
